We offer a program that aims to appeal to a range of abilities, from novices through to experienced cyclists. We grade our rides as easy, medium, or hard (e / m / h) and our motto is “No one is ever knowingly left behind!”
Our rides list includes:
An easy ride on the first Saturday of each month designed for new, returning and/or inexperienced riders; about 20 miles on relatively easy terrain
A ‘buzz’ ride, shorter harder and faster, on one Sunday each month
A mixed-grade ride every Tuesday, starting at 1:30pm
A medium-grade ride every Thursday
All rides aim to stop at least once for refreshments.

Several members of the Club use Strava to record details of their rides. Below is a list of some of the most recent ones.

Judging by the great participation of all who came to the Carol Service today (Sunday 14th December) at St George’s Church, Cam, the planning was all worth it. This was the usual light-hearted service, wonderfully conducted by the Reverend Jennifer McKenzie. followed by a fine tea laid on by members of Stroud Valleys CC and assisted by Stonehouse Wheelers who made delicious cakes and tasty sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche and mince pies.
Whilst it was recognised that this may well be the final Carol Service under the CTC West banner, this club promised to carry on with the tradition of this being the best attended event on the calendar which was endorsed by Hugh Marshall, President of CTC West.
Many thanks to all who attended the service, participated with readings and solo singing, and those who organised the catering, served tea, set out tables and chairs, and importantly did the washing-up at the end. Well done all.
You might have wondered what happens at Club Committe meetings, or even at the AGM. Well, the decision has just been taken to put the minutes of the following meetings on the Club’s website; just click on each to read the minutes:

Cycling in The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds Tourism Partnership, based in Stroud, has just produced a very useful set of suggested cycling routes covering the area between the Severn and the central Cotswolds. These, together with very useful accompanying material, can be downloaded from http://cotswolds.com/the-great-cotswold-outdoors now, or can be bought from Gloucestershire Tourism Information centres.
Stroud Valleys CC News Digest
We used to produce a regular e-newsletter which was distributed to our mailing list, but the last one was produced in March 2014. We have put the back issues of our Digest on a separate page. If you would like to read any of them, click here.

Rides start no more than 5 minutes after the published start time. Everyone is responsible for their own safe when riding. Bikes must be roadworthy; and must have working front and rear lights for winter or evening rides. Bring a spare inner tube, repair tools, some food (e.g. bananas, biscuits), a drink, money and emergency contact details in case of accident (a card/note with your name, address and emergency contact name and phone no.) If you are lucky enough to be under 18, please carry a parental agreement letter/form, even if your parent accompanies you on the ride.
If you are already a member of CTC, you are automatically entitled to ride with us. Everyone else can ‘try us out’ for two rides before joining (at www.CTC.org.uk). Membership of the CTC comes with a whole raft of benefits, including £10m third party insurance, cycling-related support and advice, and a great members’ magazine.
