2010 PROGRAMME

On joining CTC cyclists automatically become members of their Local Group, an association of members who have come together to encourage cycling in all its aspects and to foster social spirit amongst the membership. CTC West (formerly Bristol District Association) currently has six local groups and around 3900 membvers within its boundary.

Geographically, CTC West includes Bristol and Bath, Gloucestershire and most of Somerset and Wiltshire. An area of outstanding natural beauty, it includes the Cotswolds, Mendips and Quantocks, much of Exmoor, the Severn Vale, the Forest of Dean and the Wiltshire Downs. All in all - great cycling country.

The six local groups enable members to enjoy regular club riding throughout the year, and try to cater for the interests of cyclists of all abilities. Members also come together for CTC West events, such as the annual lunch and awards presentation, and the annual inter-group meet. Members regularly participate in CTC national events, including the York Cycle Show, the Birthday Rides, Tourist Competitions and many more. CTC West Events Competition CTC West members who successfully complete one of each of the 100km and 200km Audax Events listed overleaf (and submit proof of successfully completing any 2010 400km Audax Event to the Outdoor Events Secretary) will be awarded a CTC West medal.awarded a CTC West medal.
